Accidents
An accident just north of Tretten on 22nd February 1975 saw El14 2183 on train 351 and El14 2197 on train 404 collide head-on, with 27 fatalities. The damage to both locos was significant (see photo here); despite this, both locos – doubtless due to the fact that they were less than five years old at the time – did return to service.
