Snowploughs
SNCF retain two BB8500s as snowploughs, or “chasse-neiges” – 8553 (now numbered CN1) and 8556 (CN2). These are nominally based at Toulouse.
Above is a link to a YouTube video uploaded to the official SNCF channel showing some of the elements of its cold weather plan – including “CN1”, the former 8553.
