6577, as 21003, had a notable claim to fame – along with a Swedish Rc4, it had been loaned to Amtrak in the USA in 1977 for evaluation in advance of an order to replace its elderly GG1 express passenger electrics. Sadly for the Alsthom machine, the order went to the Swedes.
