Despite the V100 design being over 60 years old, many of the locos are still hard at work, not all in Germany. The above is a link to a timelapse video of SNCF Réseau‘s from January 2016 showing a Colas Rail example engaged in duties associated with track renewal outside Paris Montparnasse.
Forthcoming Workings
Railtours are expected to be hauled by a class 211 of Eisenbahnlogistik Vienenburg on Saturday 15th September 2018 and Saturday 13th October 2018.
211 200 (now back carrying its original number of V100 1200) on a railtour on Saturday 1st September 2018 from Veitshöchheim to Meiningen and return.
The Eisenbahnmuseum Bochum are running diesel-powered charters on Saturday 22nd September 2018, Saturday 13th October 2018 and Saturday 3rd November 2018. When they use diesels, on recent experience, the machine in question is usually 212 007 – although Railtrax 212 039 has deputised on occasion (most recently July 2018).
Sunday 9th December 2018, Sunday 6th January 2019 and Sunday 10th February 2019 each see two round trips operating from Tegernsee to Holzkirchen and back, advertised as being powered by diminutive steam loco 70 083. The previous thrice in 2018 that this itinerary has operated (January, February and March 2018) it has been in unadvertised top-and-tail mode with Lokomotion-owned loco 212 249 (to make the reversal at Schaftlach easier) – so it is assumed that this is a possibility for the winter 2018/19 runs too.
212 372 of the DB Museum is the expected motive power for another on Saturday 11th August 2018.
Rennsteigbahn are also running a charter on Saturday 6th July 2019 which features diesel haulage from Ilmenau to Erfurt (giving way to an ex-Deutsche Reichsbahn E11 once the wires are reached). On previous experience, this will be a V100 (possibly a pair) – the identical tour in July 2017 was 213 334 and 212 297 in multiple.
